May 2010 - Sadly three weeks after giving birth to Barry, our broodmare Broadstone Duette has died from colic. Duette has already left her mark with the international showjumpers Worlds Fair and Graffiti and we hope that Kournikova, Darya-I-Nur and Baryshnikov will follow them into the international arena. We are however happy to say that orphan Barry has been adopted by our mare Merriment, so she is raising him as well as her own foal Mika. 14 May 2010 - Romanov and Philip Spivey were part of the British team with Tina Fletcher (Hallo Sailor), Gemma Paternoster (Osiris) and Anna Edwards (Unique) that won the Nations Cup at CSIO4* Linz. Romanov jumped another first round clear and in deteriorating conditions jumped for only one fence down in the second round. Identical results from the other second round riders meant Britain won with a fence in hand.
30 April 2010 - Romanov and Philip Spivey were part of the British team with Ben Maher (Wonderboy), Ellen Whitaker (Ocalado) and Mark Armstrong (Thesaura) that finished 7th in the Nations Cup at CSIO4* Lummen. After jumping clear in the first round Romanov had an uncharacteristic 26 faults in the second round, not helped by a tack malfunction.
29 March 2010 - In the latest edition of the KWPN magazine In de Strengen there is an article about Romanov's breeders, the Bosch family from Luttenberg. 28 March 2010 - Romanov finished a close 4th in the Grand Prix this weekend in Arezzo, having finished in the same position in the qualifier for the Grand Prix on Friday. One week earlier he finished 5th in the qualifier for the Grand Prix. 21 March 2010 - Clementine (the full sister to Contido's dam Conny) won the CSI3* Grand Prix in Ravensburg ridden by Florian Meyer zu Hartum. 28 February 2010 - We are devastated to announce that our stallion Contido has died, aged just 6. He was attending his first international show in Villeneuve Loubet, France. After jumping a fantastic training round on Wednesday he became ill and was taken to a nearby equine clinic where he twice underwent surgery. Sadly he did not recover and "Mickey" died this morning. He made a great impression at the UK Stallion Expo in February and we believed he had a big future in the sport and as a stallion. We do have limited frozen semen available - please call for terms. 4 February 2010 - Both Romanov and Contido will attend the UK Stallion Expo to be held at The College, Keysoe over Valentines weekend. Quite apt really. http://www.ukstallionexpo.co.uk 30 January 2010 - Romanov won the first leg of the British Open qualifier at Addington this weekend. |
