Before his untimely death in February 2010 Contido was showing exceptional athletic movement on the flat to complement his spectacular, powerful loose jump. He made a big impression at the 2010 UK Stallion Expo earlier that month, as you can see from the video below. PROGENY Contido's first progeny were born in 2009.

His sire Contendro I is making a real name for himself in German breeding circles and his dam's full sister is successful at international Grand Prix level. The German National 5 Year old champion in 2006, Captain Fire, is bred Contendro I x Calido and is now ridden successfully by Marco Kutscher.
CONTENDRO I Contendro I received Premium status in 1999. In 2000 in the stallion testing in Adelheidsdorf he was the winner with a total of 144.72 points (jumping 147.29 and dressage 131.09). In 2001 he was placed in the Holstein Reitpferdechampionat and qualified for the Bundeschampionat. His sire, Contender also won his stallion performance test and his dam Bravo also produced the top Zangersheide stallion and World 7 Year Old Champion, Caretano (Jos Lansink). Contendro's bloodlines are greatly influenced by Ramiro. Contender's mother is by Ramiro, Contendro's mother Bravo is by the Ramiro son Reichsgraf and Bravo's mother Ofarim is by the Ramiro son Rasputin. CONNY Conny's full sister is none other than the international Grand Prix winning mare Clementine ridden by Florian Meyer zu Hartum. She comes from the Holsteiner stamm 2178, which has produced a number of approved stallions including Churchill (by Cortino II). CALIDO Calido is one of the most influential stallion sons of Cantus with more than 25 approved sons and 20 state premium mares. He won the jumping section of his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf. In 2004 his sons Coster and Clintwood were Germany's 6 year old showjumping Bundeschampionat Champion and Reserve Champion. He is also the sire of the KWPN stallion Odermus (Peter Geerink), Coup de Coeur (Rene Tebbel), Coeur (formerly John Renwick and now Rodrigo Pessoa), Eurocommerce Acapulco (Gerco Schroder), Agropoint Calira (Jamie Wingrave) and Scotch (Angelique Hoorn). PILOT Pilot was the first show jumping stallion with progeny to earn one million deutschmarks. Amongst his progeny are Pialotta (Edwina Alexander), PS Priamos (Ludger Beerbaum), Pirol V (Lesley McNaught), Showtime (Nick Skelton), Epilot (Franke Sloothak), Pro Pilot (Edouard Couperie), Iroko (Peter Geerink) and Peter Pan (Alessia Marioni).
